Big Bear, Ca, February 22, 2012, 1:00pm – With statewide budget cuts to education over the last few years, extra curricular programs such as the Big Bear Elementary Strings program have not received funding, resulting in the need to self fund the program. There will be a fundraiser for the Bear Valley Unified School District Elementary Strings Program and Mihaylo Strings Program on Saturday March 3rd at the Big Bear Lake Performing Arts Center. Jazz pianist Mike Cross will be joining the strings students to perform “Cross & Kids” which is bound to be a night full of fun and great music with Mike Cross accompanying the kids. Michael Perry from the Lighthouse Project told KBHR that they want to “Pack the Pac” for this performance. The arts are an important part of a child’s education, so get your tickets today, and support our local elementary school kids. The event will take place at 7:00pm at the PAC located at 39707 Big Bear Blvd in Big Bear Lake. To pre purchase your tickets call the PAC at 866-4970.
