Cottonwood Fire Smoke Visible in Big Bear

Drift smoke from the Cottonwood fire, near Hemet and Cranston, is visible today in the Big Bear Valley.  This fire is not considered to be a threat to Big Bear.  Also of note, the Big Bear Hotshots, a division of firefighters from the U.S. Forest Service, were instrumental in completing a successful firing operation last night on the Cottonwood fire, which is holding, or preventing growth, of fire toward Idyllwild as of this morning.
