Coach Jack Oksnee to Be Remembered in June 27 Celebration at Big Bear High School

oksnee-thumbLong beloved Big Bear High School teacher Jack Oksnee, who retired in the ’90s after teaching countless students to drive—both behind the wheel and on the golf course—will be remembered in a celebration of life scheduled for next Saturday, June 27 at 4pm. The celebration will be held at the Big Bear High School gym, just off the Oksnee Strip, the campus side street named for the teacher and coach who brought much spirit to Bears pep assemblies with his striptease down to his longjohns to the chant of “Go, Fight, Win, Bears!” Next week we will bring you more on Oksnee, husband to Norma and father to Pam, Scott and Bud, who passed on Tuesday, following a long illness.
