Big Bear Lake, CA — The City Council for the City of Big Bear Lake meets for their first regular meeting of the month this evening, with open session scheduled to begin at 6:30pm in Hofert Hall in the Big Bear Lake Civic Center. This evening’s meeting, to be led by Mayor Liz Harris, will include a presentation from the Green Building Council. A Public Hearing item will address an increase in the transient private home rental registration fee; Council will consider the resolution which would potentially revise the current $175 fee to $270. Council is also scheduled to approve the use of city facilities to accommodate the Amgen Tour of California cycling race coming to Big Bear on Friday May 21; in addition to street closures to accommodate the race, a closure of Pine Knot Avenue and Village Drive during the festivities is also being considered. Prior to this evening’s 6:30pm meeting, the City Council will convene at the Civic Center for a 9am workshop, during which time the proposed annual operating budget for the upcoming fiscal year will be reviewed.
