Chalen Winters Found Guilty in Lundin Case

Big Bear, Ca, March 31, 2011, 9:00am – On June 18thof 2008, 20-year-old Michael Lundin of Big Bear Lake was killed after being involved in an altercation involving then 18-year-old Chalen Winters, Mark Potts, Michael Day, and Alexander Ferguson.  During police investigation, it was found that Chalen Winters had struck Lundin with a blunt object causing the injury that resulted in Lundin’s death. Winters was charged with the murder of Lundin in January of 2009, and on March 30th, of 2011 his verdict was read.  On March 29that approximately 3:00pm the jury told the judge they had reached a verdict.  Court was then put into recess until the next morning so that Lundin’s, and Winter’s family could have adequate travel time to be at the trial.  On March 30th, the jury read Winter’s verdict as guilty.  Sentencing for this case has not yet occurred.
