Forest Service Employee Fatally Injured in Traffic Accident

Big Bear, Ca, February 12, 2011, 10:45am -A Forest Service employee was struck while riding his motorcycle in Big Bear City Friday evening.  36-year-old Gabriel Pomona was traveling west on North Shore Drive, when a pickup truck hit him while attempting to make a left turn.  The accident occurred at Tinkerbell Avenue at approximately 6:00 pm.  Mr. Pomona was transported to the emergency room at Bear Valley Community Hospital, where he died from his injuries.  The accident is under further investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
