Big Bear Valley, CA — The Board of Trustees for the Bear Valley Unified School District approved two personnel items during the first of this month’s two regular board meetings. First among those was the creation of a campus safety assistant position; the full-time position, which can be applied for at edjoin.org, will be in addition to two part-time safety assistants already employed at Big Bear High School. Trustees also approved the hiring of a Student Attendance/Safety Officer, a position which is federally funded through 2011 with American Reinvestment and Recovery Act funds. Four-year BVUSD employee Linda Oymaian, current financial account clerk for the district and recently honored as Classified Employee of the Year, will assume the new position and, says Director of Personnel Tim Larson, “We are excited to have this position to educate the community on how attendance affects our school funding.”
