Big Bear Lake, CA, July 4, 2012, noon – The first annual Big Bear Lake Brewsfest will be held in conjunction with the Annual Old Miner’s Day Carnival on Saturday, July 7. The Brews For Food event is a benefit for St. Joseph’s Food Pantry and will feature sixteen different beers for sampling. Entertainment will be provided by the Blue Henry’s, Wyatt’s Cafe & Saloon will be open, and a variety of arts, crafts and collectibles will be available from vendors. Saint Joseph’s Food Pantry is one of three food pantries that serves the Big Bear Valley. The pantry is currently providing food for up to 120 families per week and donations of food and money are greatly appreciated. Besides the families that pick-up at the church, the pantry also delivers food to homebound individuals. Staffed completely by volunteers, the food pantry is open every Tuesday morning from 9am to 11am for anyone who needs food. Saint Joseph’s also provides diapers and personal hygiene items. Brews For Food is the first beer-tasting event to be held in Big Bear Lake, and the first 150 ticket buyers will get a complimentary tasting pint glass. Tickets are $12.00 if you bring two non-perishable food items, or $15.00 without a donation. The event is open to anyone 21 and older. For information and tickets call the Big Bear Lake Convention Center at 585-3000.
