CalTrans has announced today that the next round of blasting for the Big Bear bridge project will take place tomorrow, Friday, between the hours of 1 and 3pm. During the actual blasting, there will be a full closure of Highway 18 at the Big Bear dam. In addition to tomorrow afternoon’s blasting, there may be an additional round taking place on Tuesday, September 15, also between 1 and 3pm, if needed. The afternoon blasting delays are in addition to ongoing, weekday flagging at the dam, which accounts for delays up to 15-20 minutes from 7am to 5pm. For additional road specifics, see the KBHR Roads page.
