Three Big Bear-Area Earthquakes in Friday’s 11am Hour

earthquake-thumb1We had three earthquakes in the 11am hour today, the first of which was a 1.6 magnitude quake centered six miles northwest of Big Bear City at 11:09am. The second earthquake, at 11:18am today, was of a magnitude 1.9 and centered seven miles north of Big Bear Lake. The third, at 11:24am, was also of a 1.6 magnitude and centered seven miles north of Big Bear Lake. Each of this morning’s tremors, as recorded by the U.S. Geological Survey, registered a depth of five miles.
