Big Bear Museum Seeks Volunteers

Big Bear, Ca, May 5, 2011, 12:00pm - The Big Bear Museum, the keeper of our valley’s history, along with the Historical Society, is seeking volunteers to help on Wednesday’s, Saturday’s, Sunday’s and holiday Mondays. The Museum is set to open on Memorial Day weekend, and volunteers are needed before then to go through a docent training session on May 13th.  The duties of the Museum volunteers or docents are to “meet, greet, and share the incredible history of the Big Bear Valley with visitors from all over the world.  The only requirements are to be a Historical Society member, enjoy having fun and talking to people.”  Said Gloria Meade, Docent Coordinator.  Merle Bobzien, the Curator will be on hand to give a tour of the four cabins on site, and go over some simple easy history of each cabin.  If you would like more information call 585-6541 or just show up at the Big Bear Museum on Friday, May 13th at 10:00am.
