Big Bear Lake Resort Association Reaches 1 Million in 1 Month for 1st Time.

Big Bear, Ca, January 3, 2011, 12:00pm - The Big Bear Lake Resort Association and its members are pleased to announce its Central Reservations surpassed $1 million in lodging arrivals for December 2011. It is the first time ever in the Resort Association’s history that lodging arrivals reached the $1 million milestone (for a one month period). The record-breaking month for central reservations showed a 59 percent increase over a five-year average in lodging arrivals for the past five Decembers.  In addition to the fiscal milestone, the Resort Association’s website www.BigBear.com also surpassed records with 224,424 unique visitors in the month of December.  The previous record for unique visitors to BigBear.com in one month was 151,935 in January 2010.  Big Bear Lake Resort Association President and CEO Rick Shoup is proud of the Resort Association members’ continuous efforts. Shoup said, “Even in a down economy, the Resort Association has shown consistent growth in reservations and web site traffic. The terrific landmarks reached in December are a tribute to our customer-driven members and staff.”

Angela Meyers moved to Big Bear in August of 2009, after spending a summer in Washington DC. Angela’s parents Roy and Susan Meyers met at Big Bear High School in 1967, and her Grandfather Rob Jacobson worked at the Big Bear Lake Post Office for 28 years. Angela graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a degree in Public Relations. While at CSUF she was the Director of Public Relations for the Associated Students for two years. Angela is a member of the Big Bear Valley Trails Foundation, The Big Bear Cycling Association, and races for, and is the co captain of Team Tough Chik, an all women's multi sport team.
