Big Bear High School students were under a lockdown earlier, as an anonymous, undated note indicating that there was a bomb on campus was found at the school site today (May 22), on what was originally to be a school holiday—though students were in attendance as a snow makeup day. Deputies of the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station, supported by the Big Bear City Fire Department, did a thorough sweep of the school, and no bomb was found. Following the evacuation of students, BVUSD officials released them from campus at 1:45pm, and bus transportation was provided at that time. Just after 2pm, law enforcement officials cleared the campus once it was definitively determined that there was no bomb at Big Bear High School.
