Big Bear High School Bear’s Football Makes It To CIF

Big Bear, Ca, November 19, 2010, 12:00pm  - The Big Bear High School football team is headed to CIF Playoffs tomorrow after beating Desert Mirage, Shadow Hills, Twentynine Palms, and Yucca Valley, for the De Anza League.  Overall the team had eight wins for the season and two losses.  “Last year was a rough season, and we didn’t make the playoffs,”  said Bear’s coach Dave Griffiths, “This group of kids made goals and wanted to get into the championships.”  The Bears will play Linfield Christian School tomorrow at 1:00pm, weather pending at the middle school.  However if there is heavy snow the game will be moved to the Lucerne Valley Middle School.  Griffiths told KBHR that he has enjoyed coaching the Bears, and that the team has real chemistry.  “They just really gel, and compliment each other with their individual talents,” said Griffiths, “They are a great group to coach, and a fun group to be around.”  Ticket prices for the CIF game are $8 for adults, and $5 for students.
