Big Bear High School Alumni Come Home This Weekend

Big Bear, Ca, September 21, 2011, 12:00pm - This coming weekend many familiar faces may be seen around town as Big Bear High School will have its Homecoming.  The Homecoming football game will take place this Saturday at the Big Bear Middle School field, with the JV football game starting at 10:45am with the Varsity Game to follow.  There will be floats at the varsity game with a special half time show where a new Homecoming queen will be crowned.  This year the nominees for Homecoming include: Megan Bloch, Kelly Anderson, Chelsea Vaughn, Tara Hubbard, Luz Navarrete, with two honorary homecoming princesses, foreign exchange students Samara Rickman from New Zealand, and Henrike Boeckmann from Germany.  The dance will take place Saturday night from 8:00 to 11:00pm at Big Bear High School.  Reunions planned for this year include the 10 year reunion for the class of 2001, and a joint reunion for the classes of 1980 & 1981.  According to BBHS ASB Clerk Sharon Newkirk many alums come to the homecoming game.  Newkirk also told KBHR that to kick off Homecoming weekend Big Bear High will be holding a battle of the bands on Friday night at 7:00pm featuring students, faculty and alumni.
