Bears Win First Games of BBHS Basketball Season

Big Bear High School basketball is underway, and both the boys and girls varsity teams won their first games of the season, against Lucerne Valley High School yesterday. The boys varsity team, led by Dylan Helme, Parker Bradley and Johnny Spurlock, won their game in a score of 88-58. The Lady Bears won 39-10; and the JV girls team also won, in a score of 37-5. Varsity teams play again today, at schools off the mountain, and the JV boys team hosts a tournament at Big Bear High School this Friday and Saturday.

After graduating from BBHS, Catherine moved to Los Angeles to attend Loyola Marymount University. In her 20 years off the mountain, most recently in Manhattan Beach, Catherine's career has included publishing, broadcasting, public relations and public education; she served as KBHR's News Director from April 2007 to July 2010.
