American Legion Post 584 Hosts Welcome Home for Vietnam Veterans

Big Bear, CA, March 28, 2012, 12:00 noon – Vietnam veterans will receive another “Welcome Home” this Friday, March 30th at 5 pm at the Big Bear American Legion Post 584 located at 41606 Big Bear Blvd., Big Bear Lake.  For the third consecutive year, the Legion invites all Vietnam veterans and their families to visit Post 584 and meet with fellow veterans who make the Big Bear Valley their home.  In 2010, California first officially recognized the historic date marking Vietnam veterans’ return from Southeast Asia; similar events recognizing military service in Vietnam are held now throughout the country.  Bill Wilson, local Post 584 commander, said this year’s welcome will be a casual occasion where veterans of all services and eras can share camaraderie for those who served in Vietnam.  For more information, contact the American Legion at 866-4845.
