Widespread Phone Outage; Verizon Fixing Fiber Optic Cable

San Bernardino Mountains, CA, August 22, 2013 – According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, a Verizon Fiber Optic Cable has been damaged in the Big Bear area. The issue is being addressed, however, it is unknown when the cable will be repaired. Individuals have been reporting various problems with both land lines and cell phones are down; as well as with carriers other than Verizon, including Virgin, T-Mobile and AT&T.
