Pasadena Orchestra Joins Forces With Mountain Ensembles

Big Bear Lake, CA, January 29, 2014 – On February 8, the Arts Council of Big Bear Valley will present a collaboration between the Pasadena Youth Symphony Orchestra (PYSO) and the All Mountain String Ensemble, conducted by Sharon Rizzo. This free performance runs from 2:00-5:00 p.m at the Big Bear Lake Performing Arts Center (39707 Big Bear Blvd.).

PYSO has offered musical training and personal development for young musicians in the San Gabriel Valley for over 40 years. Two of the orchestra’s divisions will perform in Big Bear: its String Orchestra and its Wind Ensemble, whose occasional partnerships give musicians in grades six-nine the opportunity to perform within a full symphony.

The All Mountain String Ensemble comprises the top students in the Big Bear Lighthouse Youth Orchestras and the Arrowhead Arts Youth String Ensembles. Under the direction of Sharon Rizzo, the students have won top honors at music festivals and competitions.

For more information, call the Arts Council at (909) 585-5916 or visit them online.
