Local Students Join Far West Academic Team

Big Bear Lake, CA, October 2, 2013 – Two Big Bear High School students have been selected for the 2013 Far West Skiing Academic Team: Connor Hafen and Sarah Auer. The Team is made up of athletes that have competed at the U16 age class or older during the 2013 season, and have maintained a 3.5 GPA or higher. These students compete at all levels from Divisional racing up to US Nationals and US Ski Team members.

Far West Board President Paul Abbott said, “The Association takes great pride in its many athletes and is equally proud of the academic successes of many of our racers.”

Far West Skiing is a division of USSA, the United States Skiing and Snowboarding Association.
