Full containment on Fawnskin Fire expected by Friday

Fawnskin, CA, April 21, 2013 – UPDATE: The Forest Service reported 50% containment at 30 acres as of 7:00 p.m. Sunday. Full containment is expected by 4/26/13.

Forest Service Road 2N71 is closed, as is a section of the PCT between 2N09 and 3N12 (foot traffic is being rerouted).

The cause is an escaped campfire.

13 engines
5 water tenders
189 personnel

Another official update is scheduled for Monday morning.
