Book Collecting Program At Library

Big Bear Lake, CA, February 6, 2013 - The Friends of the Library will sponsor a program on book collecting by Merle R. Bobzien on Saturday, February 23, 2013, at 2 pm. Merle Bobzien, a long-time local collector, will explore the world of book collecting. He will talk about famous book collectors throughout history and relate their adventures (and mania) in a lively discussion. There will be examples on display from the 13th to the 20th centuries, taken from his own collection.  After a career in biological sciences and information technologies, Mr. Bobzien has also worked as a rare book cataloguer and salesman, and is currently a board member with the Friends of the Library. The program will be held at 2 pm February 23, at The Big Bear Lake Branch Library 41930 Garstin Drive, Big Bear Lake. It is open to the general public at no charge. Seating is limited and early arrival is recommended.
