Old Miners Meeting

Big Bear Lake, CA, January 25, 2013 – The Big Bear Old Miners Association invites all interested persons to attend a general membership meeting and enjoy a movie matinee. The meeting will begin at 3pm on Sunday, February 10 at the Robinhood Resort at the corner of Pine Knot Avenue and Big Bear Boulevard. You do not have to be a member to attend. The movie “Don’t Fence Me In” starring Roy Rogers and Dale Evans will be shown immediately following the meeting. Scenes from the movie were filmed at the Peter Pan Club near Big Bear Lake. The club burned to the ground many decades ago, but not before the area now known as Big Bear City sprung up around the once-thriving club. The members of the Association will discuss and are seeking input on the 2013 Events Calendar which includes the annual Big Bear Heritage Parade, the Chili Cook-off and a slate of potential events. The Association is also seeking persons to become a part the Association and/or to work as volunteers during the events. For more information, call Mike Copley at (909) 866-5850.
