Critically Acclaimed Holiday Favorite Comes to Big Bear

Big Bear Lake, CA, December 21, 2012 – The spirit of Christmas comes alive this weekend, as the Big Bear Theater Project presents the heartwarming classic “It’s A Wonderful Life” in the style of a 1940s LIVE Radio Broadcast! Join the performers in the studio of WBFR as they perform the radio version of the beloved Frank Capra film that featured Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed.

It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play premiered in 1996 at Stamford Center for the Arts in Connecticut, and has since been produced around the country to critical acclaim. The script by Joe Landry was a BackStage Critic’s Choice and called “The best holiday choice around” by the Chicago Tribune.

This production is directed by and stars No Name Pizza co-owner Steve Cassling as George Bailey, along with Beth Gardner as Mary Bailey. Show times at the Big Bear Lake Performing Arts Center (39707 Big Bear Blvd.) are 7:30pm Friday and Saturday, plus a 2pm matinee on Sunday. Tickets are $10 for children and 20 for adults; reserve them ahead of time at the box office: telephone 909-866-4970.
