Big Bear Lake, CA, October 23, 2012, 2pm – The Big Bear Valley Education Trust is proud to announce Education Week this week. Education Week presents everyone in Big Bear Valley an opportunity to celebrate public education, and honor individuals who are making a difference by making sure that every child gets a quality education. Special observances include a resolution to the City Council presented by the Mayor of Big Bear Lake, celebrating the efforts of the Big Bear Valley Education Trust, and an information booth at the Chamber of Commerce Mixer at Citibank. Friends of the Library are sponsoring bookmarks to announce Education Week. Students were invited to draw and color their favorite thing about school on the bookmark. High School students are participating in a poster contest, and Principals are conducting school tours for selected community leaders and parents. And finally, on October 28th, the public is invited to the Big Bear Valley Education Trust first annual Golden Apple Award Dinner honoring those who have provided dedicated service to Big Bear Valley’s youth and their education.
