More Burglaries In Big Bear

Big Bear Valley, CA, June 12, 2012, 8:00am - According to the Big Bear Sheriff’s Department, there’s been an increase in the number of vehicle burglaries from unlocked cars in the valley. Investigation of the burglaries is ongoing with deputies and detectives following up on all leads. You can minimize your chances of becoming a victim by taking a few simple steps.

~ Keep car doors, windows and sunroofs closed and locked.
~ Never leave valuables in your vehicle.
~ Park your vehicle in well-lit areas.
~ Do not leave your keys in your vehicle.
~ Do not leave cash or change in the cup holder.
~ Mark all of your electronic equipment with a personal identification number and keep a list of the serial number, make and model number of each item. This will help in the recovery of your property if you have anything stolen. Anyone with information on the recent vehicle burglaries should contact the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station at 866-0100.  Information can also be reported anonymously by calling 1 (800) 78-CRIME.
