Big Bear, CA, November 2, 2012 – The Kiwanis and Holiday Giving Collaborative Partners will be accepting applications for the annual Gifts for Kids program and holiday food baskets this weekend on Saturday, November 3rd and Sunday, November 4th. Seniors, families and individuals interested in signing up for either of these programs can apply in person on either day at the United Methodist Church, located at the corner of Holden and North Shore Drive in Big Bear City, from 1:00 to 5:00 pm. Additional sign up dates include November 11th for the Gifts for Kids program and Thanksgiving food baskets. Later sign up dates are November 17th and 18th and December 1st, 2nd, 8th and 9th for the Christmas Gifts for Kids program and Christmas food baskets. Residents are encouraged to sign up in November if they wish to receive a Thanksgiving food basket. No phone applications will be taken. If businesses, groups or individuals are interested in sponsoring a family for the holidays, contact the local Healthy Start office at 585-6257.
