The Big Bear Pilots Association hosts the Young Eagles program on second Saturdays through the summer, from 9am to 11:30am. This is an opportunity for youth, ages 7 to 17, to enjoy a free flight over Big Bear Lake, following a pre-flight review of the aircraft. The flight is free, though parents must sign a waiver prior to takeoff from the Big Bear Airport, located in Big Bear City off Big Tree (just north of the Boulevard). After graduating from BBHS, Catherine moved to Los Angeles to attend Loyola Marymount University. In her 20 years off the mountain, most recently in Manhattan Beach, Catherine's career has included publishing, broadcasting, public relations and public education; she served as KBHR's News Director from April 2007 to July 2010.
