Team Big Bear’s Shoot-Out, a cross-country mountain biking event, is open to novice to pro riders. Registration and more details available at OpenAirBigBear.com; registration also available at La Montana restaurant (at the Moonridge Y in Big Bear Lake) on Saturday, from 3-5pm, or on Sunday’s race day at 8am. Awards ceremony at La Montana in the afternoon. Spectators can view race, which starts on Forest Road 2N10 just above Bear Mountain Resort, winds along the Big Bear Valley’s south ridge and drops down onto Bristlecone Road.

In her 20 years off the mountain, most recently in Manhattan Beach, Catherine's career has included publishing, broadcasting, public relations and public education; she served as KBHR's News Director from April 2007 to July 2010.
