Los Vaqueros Gymkhana and Kick-Off BBQ

Los Vaqueros de Las Montañas, Big Bear’s riding club formed in 1946, hosts their first gymkhana of the season, and all are invited to view the activities at no charge. For those who wish to participate in the gymkhana, which includes pole bending, Texas barrels, speedball and keyhole, signups begin at 9am at the Los Vaqueros arena, located at the eastern-most end of Big Bear Boulevard (on the left) in Big Bear City. After the 10am gymkhana (around 4-5pm), Los Vaqueros hosts a kick-off BBQ featuring tri-tip; suggested donation is $15. The final event of the day, following dinner, will be ranch sorting, the only free cattle event of the season. For map specifics, visit the Los Vaqueros website.
