The Big Bear Book and Bean on Pine Knot Avenue in the Village hosts a book signing, to include 13-year-old mountaineer Jordan Romero and Katherine Blanc, author of “The Boy Who Conquered Everest: The Jordan Romero Story.” The book is a full-color scrapbook-style storybook (intended for readers ages 8-15) and includes nearly 200 photos from Team Jordan Romero’s climbing adventures. After graduating from BBHS, Catherine moved to Los Angeles to attend Loyola Marymount University. In her 20 years off the mountain, most recently in Manhattan Beach, Catherine's career has included publishing, broadcasting, public relations and public education; she served as KBHR's News Director from April 2007 to July 2010.
