Volunteers are welcome to join biologists of the San Bernardino National Forest for the American bald eagle count, which begins with 8am orientation at the Big Bear Discovery Center, located on the North Shore of Big Bear Lake. The 9am count extends for one hour. No experience is necessary, though volunteers are asked to bring binoculars, a pen and watch, and reminded to dress warmly. More info available from Marc Stamer at the Big Bear Ranger Station at 382-2828.
